Description
If you’re thinking about starting a blog, this is STEP NUMBER ONE: a Blogging Startup Planner.
Don’t fall into the hype that some services will sell you, the idea that your first step is to build a beautiful website using an online tool.
No, the first step is to STOP and THINK about the OBJECTIVE that you have for a blog and PROVE that it will work!
How do you do that?
With this Blogging Startup Planner, that’s how.
This 22-page planner contains worksheets and guides to help you research your idea for a blog, make sure it can succeed, and then create a plan for how you’re going to achieve that success. Unlike my Ultimate Blogging Planner, which helps you map out your editorial calendar and blogging tasks for the coming year, the Blogging Startup Planner is what you work through BEFORE you actually start a blog.
This low investment of time and money up front will help keep you from wasting thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to build a blog around the wrong idea, or without a set plan or direction. Trust me, I know! I wasted two years blogging about the wrong topics and creating unfocused content because I didn’t do my homework up front.
The Blogging Startup Planner features the following sections:
01. Why Do I Want To Blog?
02. What’s Your Story?
03. Who Are You?
04. Mission Statement
05. Keyword Research
06. Topic Brainstorming
07. Audience Worksheet
08. Monetization Research
09. What Are Your Goals For Your Blog?
10. SWOT Analysis
11. Financial Analysis
12. Business Name Worksheet
13. Domain Name Research
14. Social Media Handle Research
15. Style Guide
16. Site Structure
17. Blog Post Brainstorming Worksheet
18. New Blogging Business Checklist
19. Marketing Plan
20. Financial Plan
21. Exit Strategy
22. Notes
And, the Blogging Startup Planner includes a companion eBook that walks you step-by-step how to work through each and every section of the planner… the eBook alone is over 3,000 words and could easily sell as a course for $99 or more!
Sure, you could pay someone like me for a couple of coaching calls at $200/hour to tell you how to come up with all of this information, or you can buy the Blogging Startup Planner for a fraction of the price.
But let’s be honest here… marketing hype aside… this resource represents years of experience I’ve collected, both good and bad, which I’m now sharing with you to help you avoid all kinds of issues. But since it’s a product and not an hourly coaching call, I can afford to sell the planner at a much lower price point.
This is a downloadable, printable planner. It is designed to be printed and completed by hand, which also gives you the flexibility to print multiple copies of some of the pages (which you will undoubtedly need to do). You can print using your home printer (the loss of margins will have no impact on the pages), or send it to your local Kinko’s for a nice borderless print job – which is particularly great if you’re going to use my Ultimate Blogging Planner as well want to keep everything in a binder like I do.
Once you have completed your Blogging Startup Planner, not only will know for sure whether your idea for a blog is sound, you’ll know who you’re blogging for and have a plan for making money from that blog. You’ll have an entire Business Plan for your new blog!
